Communication and Creativity
In 1982, Canon developed the world's first all-in-one cartridge for copying machines. This cartridge integrated the toner hopper, photosensitive drum, charging unit, cleaner, and developer into a single compact unit. Canon has obtained several hundred patents for its all-in-one cartridge invention. The company has also been collecting and recycling used toner cartridges worldwide since 1990.

IT Friendly
MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform), incorporated into Canon network digital MFPs, uses Java technology to achieve operations independent of the operating system. MEAP gives network digital MFPs dramatically enhanced potential as IT terminals and further broadens their interaction with external devices and software.
